Cinnamon Extract is a botanical ingredient derived from the bark of Cinnamomum cassia, a traditional aromatic plant widely valued for its naturally occurring polyphenols and characteristic cinnamaldehyde-rich chemistry.
The extract contains cinnamon polyphenols, cinnamaldehyde, cinnamic acid, proanthocyanidins and related phenolic compounds. Depending on the extraction process and commercial grade, Cinnamon Extract can be standardized to a defined level of polyphenols or cinnamaldehyde, providing formulators with a consistent botanical raw material.
Cinnamon Extract is suitable for a variety of skin-care, body-care, hair-care and botanical cosmetic formulations. It can be incorporated into creams, lotions, gels, cleansers, body scrubs, massage products, shampoos and other botanical personal-care formulations.
For standardized products, the active-marker content should always correspond to the actual commercial specification and batch COA, as Cinnamon Extract composition varies with species, plant part, extraction solvent, extraction ratio and processing conditions.
