Bhringraj, False Daisy

Bhringraj Extract (False Daisy Extract) is a botanical extract derived from Eclipta prostrata L., traditionally valued in Ayurvedic personal care and widely used in herbal hair-care formulations. The plant belongs to the Asteraceae family and contains characteristic coumestans, flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, steroids and other naturally occurring phytochemicals.

Wedelolactone is one of the characteristic constituents of Eclipta prostrata and is commonly used as a marker for analytical standardization of Bhringraj extracts. Depending on the product grade, the extract may be standardized using HPLC or other validated chromatographic methods.

Bhringraj Extract is particularly suitable for hair-care and scalp-care formulations, including shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, hair masks, hair serums and herbal scalp preparations. It can also be incorporated into selected skin-care formulations where botanical and conditioning properties are desired.
